Title: Exploring Classical and Quantum Error Correction Codes: Supervisor: Professor Victor Albert
Researched and then coded the descriptors (code rate, threshold, tolerance, and mathematical notations) of novel and existing error-correcting codes into the website “errorcorrectionzoo.com.”
Codes researched/studied:
Linear q-ary code: Error-correcting code whose codewords form a linear subspace.
Constant-weight code: Classical linear binary error-correcting code using constant Hamming weight.
Dual linear code: Variant of the linear error-correcting code (closed codewords scalar operations).
Quantum Color-8 code: Topological variant of the Calderbank-Shor-Steane (CSS) stabilizer code.
Rank-metric code: Error-correcting code whose codewords are matrices. Rank is used for protection.
Golden code: Hyperbolic surface code that uses regular tessellations for 4-dimensional hyperbolic space.
Quasi-cyclic code: Block error-correcting code whose cyclically shifted codewords result in a codeword.
Shor-9 code: Stabilizer error-correcting code requiring nine-qubits to correct a single-qubit error.
